Lets Figure This Out!

  • The simple explanation is that solar panels capture energy from the sun, send to your house for you to use, and send the extra electricity either to the utility grid (for which you will get credits), or into a battery that you can pull from later. Simple!

  • Most of us havent shopped around for Solar before so we dont know exactly what to look for. Its Important to focus on what matters and not get confused with irrelevant things

    1) System Size- Price is always based on system size, NOT production. This is a common misunderstanding that leads to a lot of confusion. Every company has a different way of calculating production, so its not going to be an apples to apples comparison.

System Size just means how many panels x the wattage of each panel. Example: 10 panels, 400 Watts Each will be a 4000 Watt or 4 KW system.

    2) QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY

The last thing you want is to sign up with a company thats dirt cheap and have them take a year to install your job and do poor quality work every step of the way. We all want to be optimistic, but we’ve seen it happen multiple times. Check reviews, and get references.

    3) Warranties

Make sure that youre clear about the Roof Warranty, Panel Warranty, Inverter Warranty, And the Labor/Workmanship Warranty.

  • This depends on your financial situation and goals. Leases and PPAs can be valuable for many people who are ineligible for government tax credits or dont want to take out a loan. On the other hand, many people choose to finance their system because they see that its dramatically cheaper in the long run. You should speak to an Energy Expert to help you decide!

  • Nothing to Worry about! We wont put anything on the roof if its not in shape to handle it.

We will personally inspect your roof and make sure that there wont be any issues down the line. If the roof passes, we will warranty it. If it doesnt pass, we can offer 0 money out of pocket roofing options.

  • Yes! As long as theres any light outside at all, your panels will produce energy. Although youll definitely make more energy in the summer, we’ll design a system that powers your house all year round!

  • We’ve dealt with many customers who’ve had this concern in the past. Thats why we’re proud to say that we install a squirrel/bird guard (Avg $3000 Value!) with every job that we do!

  • There are a TON of incentives that the government is giving towards homeowners’ solar projects. They are a crucial part of why the whole industry works! However, every area has different incentives and not everyone qualifies for them. Consult with a solar professional to find out what incentives are available in your area, and consult with a Tax Professional to confirm whether youre eligible.

  • This varies from location to location. Net Metering allows you to get credits for any extra energy you generate for the grid. Most of the time, these credits can be redeemed in the future when youre using more energy than your system can produce at the moment (i.e. the nighttime or the winter time). However, some areas will cut you a check at the end of the year if you generate extra energy that you never used! You should consult with an Energy Expert to find out if your location offers Net Metering.

  • You will always have the utility as a back up if you need more energy. However, we can evaluate and adjust your system from the beginning if you foresee higher energy needs in the future!

  • This depends on the local ordinance. We have the technology to take you off grid, however many areas don’t allow you to disconnect. If you have a back up battery for the home, the utility may require you to still be connected, but you will effectively be living independently from the grid while still connected.

  • It varies between local ordinances. Getting approvals and permits can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months. The installation itself usually takes 1 -3 days depending on the size of the job.
